EPITA-Y2-THLR

Second-year EPITA coursework in formal language theory and automata — finite automata and grammars, built by hand across three practical exercises.

Overview

THLR (Théorie des Langages et Reconnaissance) is a second-year EPITA course on formal language theory: finite automata, grammars, and the algorithms that convert between them. This repository holds the three practical exercises (TPs) completed for the course, each one hand-written to practice the underlying theory rather than just use a library.

Topics Covered

  • Finite automata: construction, determinization, and minimization
  • Regular grammars and their equivalence with finite automata
  • Language recognition algorithms built from scratch, without automata libraries
